Mundota Fort and Palace, Jaipur: A Marwari Destination Wedding

There's something magical about destination weddings. Tying the knot in a faraway place amidst your loved ones is something everyone cherishes for a lifetime.

While there are many beautiful locations to select from for a destination wedding, Pranav and Vrinda chose Mundota Fort and Palace, Jaipur for saying 'I do,' and together, everyone enjoyed the one-of-a-kind experience. The wedding was planned beautifully by Ankush Dhelia from purple people. The architecturally rich city of Jaipur - one of the top wedding destinations in India -  offered Pranav and Vrinda, their families, and friends a pleasant and unforgettable wedding celebration.

After jet-setting to Jaipur, the first thing the couple did was get ready for the bridal photoshoots. Clad in a white dress, Vrinda looked like an angel. We captured the fun, excitement, and merriment in all its essence. The Mundota Fort and Jaipur's picturesque locations allowed the us to click so many candid shots of the couple.

The photoshoot started in the sunny evening until the beautiful twilight set in the background. The beautiful couple shoot with the stunning backdrops of the fort and palace turned out to be a major highlight of the evening.

The Mehndi

Pranav and Vrinda had opted for a carnival-themed Mehndi, and they had it fully loaded with fun activities. Decorated in bright pinks and yellows, the lac bangle making, Tarot card reading, and local performances added more colour to the events.

Marwari weddings are famous for their vibrant colours, rich heritage, and cultural traditions. At the Mehndi, the bride surprised the groom by breaking into a sudden dance with her bridesmaids. Later, the bride's sister and cousins performed a scintillating dance performance.

A show game was planned for the couple, and it was absolutely fun not only for Pranav and Vrinda but for everyone at the event. The Mehndi celebrations concluded with a Dandiya Raas, which seemed like a fitting gift for the Gujarati bridegroom, Pranav.

The Sangeet

Vrinda and Pranav's sangeet function was held at ITC Rajputana. The families welcomed the groom and bride with garlands and sweets. The couple exchanged rings amid the lovely backdrop of the venue. The traditional havelis of Jaipur inspired the hotel's architecture. The long corridors, courtyards, and fountains added to the romance and majesty.

Family members and cousins had a gala time entertaining the couple with their performance. The couple exchanged rings and did not shy away from showcasing their grooving skills either and danced to a super fun song.

The Haldi

The Haldi is one of the essential pre-wedding functions in which turmeric, sandal paste, and oil are applied to the bride and groom by the members of the family. It is considered that the mixture will bless the couple, and by applying Haldi, the bride and groom are beckoning peace and prosperity.

The mandap was elegantly decorated for the Haldi and had lotus-shaped seats. With marigolds and lilies covering the area, it was an awe-inspiring sight.

Draped in an off-white saree, Vrinda looked gorgeous as bridesmaids showered flowers on her after applying the Haldi. Wearing a yellow kurta and white pyjama, Pranav joined the celebrations as elders smeared his face with the Haldi paste.

The Wedding

Weddings have their charm, and Vrinda and Pranav's wedding was no exception. It was vibrant, intricately planned, and full of celebration and tradition.

The wedding venue was the famous Mundota Fort. The 14th-century fort is amidst the Aravalli mountain range on a granite hill. The breathtaking venue is spread over 10 acres and has courtyards, terraces, charming pavilions, and gardens.

Overlooking the village, several species of birds and dancing peacocks visit the Mundota Fort. No wonder people flock to the fort in Jaipur for weddings and travel, as it offers all the modern convenience in an intimate setting.

There can never be a dull moment in a Marwari wedding. A series of rituals were held right before the groom proceeded to the wedding venue. For the baarat, Pranav was seated on a gracefully decorated elephant. They reached the venue with the family in a procession, singing and dancing.

As Pranav arrived, the bride's family welcomed him and the procession with sweets and aarti. Vrinda's mom did not forget to play the Ponkhnu, a fun tradition to welcome the groom to the wedding mandap. She performed the aarti, fed him sweets, and blessed him. She also pulled Pranav's nose in jest, a cute and playful tradition in Marwari weddings.

Pranav was wearing an embroidered kurta and dupatta with a hue of red as the border. He also wore a vibrant pagdi and multi-layered stone chain. With many rituals and mini-functions leading to the Big Day, it was time for the bride to enter.

Vrinda, resplendent in a red lehenga, entered under the chaadar with her friends and family welcoming her. With a bright and beautiful red lehenga, intricate henna designs, traditional jewellery, and the nath, Vrinda looked like a million dollars.

When the bride and the groom arrived at the wedding mandap, it was time for the Jaimala ritual. The couple exchanged floral garlands with each other right in front of the famous palace amidst pyros and rose petal showers.

Marwari weddings are all about delicious food, vibrant outfits, and grandeur. A perfect blend of custom beliefs and fun-filled activities, Pranav and Vrinda's wedding, too, was a palette of colours.

With many rites, rituals, and fun, Pranav and Vrinda became Husband and Wife on the full moon night, with the Mundota Fort setting the perfect backdrop. Amid the fun and frolic, we clicked enough photographs with the Mundota Fort standing tall as the milieu.

Moongate Events Venue, Bangalore: A Fun Filled Iyengar Wedding

Marriage is the union of two souls as well as two families. When Madhvi and Adithya tied the knot, they celebrated this union through a blend of traditions and fun-filled events. Their marriage ceremony reflected a gorgeous Iyengar wedding infused with love, laughter, and lively moments.

Madhvi and Adithya wanted a large, lush green venue for the wedding. They selected Moongate Bangalore for its open space, lovely views, serene ambience, abundance of sunshine and cool breeze. The venue offered a lovely combination of indoor and outdoor settings that provided us with several spots to capture fine shots of the couple and their Tamil wedding rituals.

The Colourful Mehndi Carnival

A colourful Mehni Carnival marked the beginning of Madhvi and Adithya’s wedding story. This event was held in the gazebo situated on the lush green lawn. It offered a breath-taking view of the lake, which served as a lovely backdrop for the event.

The upbeat mood of the ceremony was enhanced by the amazing décor of the venue. Adorned with fresh flowers, decorated umbrellas, and other colorful tasselled props, the whole setting looked nothing short of magical. A fresh flower décor setting put up against the backdrop of the lake served as an ideal spot to shoot some incredible photos.

The Mehndi event began with the beat on the dhol. Dressed in colourful Garba outfits, members of both families took up Garba sticks to dance to their heart’s content.

Madhvi and Adithya coordinated their looks and sported white outfits enriched with pastel floral designs. The young couple joined in the fun and gladly showed off their dancing skills. They swirled, twirled, and shared their joy with everyone around them.

Adithya even played the dhol while his lovely bride looked on with awe. Another highlight was the tug of war between the family members, where everyone joined in the fun. To add to the fun, we made Adithya play the guitar and encouraged the couple to sing their favourite Tamil songs, which they did happily.

It was a delight to witness everyone participating in the Mehndi carnival with such enthusiasm. We captured the whole vibe of the event through a series of photos. We were particularly happy to do a beautiful couple shoot against the lake backdrop. Madhvi and Adithya looked absolutely stunning.

The Spectacular Iyengar Wedding

For the wedding ceremony, the outdoor venue was decked up in colourful hues rendered by fresh flowers. The day started with the bride and the groom getting ready for the traditional Iyengar wedding rituals.

Madhvi was unsure about putting the kondai on her hair. Kondai is a unique hairdo wherein traditional Iyengar brides sport a bun on a single side of the head. It was a heart-touching moment to witness the grandmom convince the young bride to wear the kondai. She finally relented and wore it with a smile on her face.

The groom dressed in a white silk dhoti with red and blue borders. The bride looked ravishing in her traditional finery. Decked up in an ochre saree and adorned with golden jewellery pieces, she looked like a happy princess. We loved capturing the bride in various moods as she got ready for one of the biggest events of her life.

The main wedding ceremony started with the groom being stopped from going to Kashi as per the tradition. He was convinced to marry Madhvi instead. This ritual was followed by the garlanding ceremony. The bride and the groom exchanged garlands while both families lifted them -  resulting in a lot of fun and beaming faces.

The couple simply looked picture-perfect sitting on a beautifully decorated swing or oonjal for their Oonjal ceremony. It was a sight to watch them gently rocking on the swing while the women performed the Oonjal rituals.

Next, it was time for the bride to change her outfit for the main wedding rituals. She wore a fabulous nine-yards long red saree with intricate golden patterns that enhanced her beauty by quite a few notches.

The pretty bride sat on her father’s lap, keeping with the traditions. The groom tied Mangalsutra on his bride’s neck. It was a lovely moment for all to witness. The couple completed all the other rituals of the wedding with smiles on their faces.

Right after the wedding, we did a photoshoot with the newlywed couple. They looked relaxed and besotted in love, and we promptly captured them in our lens.

The Scintillating Reception

Lights, colours, props, and flowers served as the décor theme of the reception venue. The groom donned a black suit and tie over a white shirt. Beside him, his bride dazzled in a deep green saree matched with a sleeveless blouse and stone-studded golden jewellery.

The couple cut their wedding cake standing against the backdrop of the macabre setting near the lake. With fireworks surrounding them, it seemed like a surreal moment. We loved the cute props of a Tamil couple on the cake that looked like miniature versions of Madhvi and Adithya.

This was followed by the couple and other family members lighting sky lamps and releasing them into the air. The sky lamps looked magical as they floated in the blanket of darkness above the lake.

As the evening proceeded, the couple took to the ground and shared their first dance as a wedded pair.

We loved shooting every moment of this wedding. It was all colours, fun, and frolic. We tried to capture the vibrant mood of the wedding in our photos so that the couple can sit back and relive these moments whenever they feel like doing so in the future.

Leela Bhartiya City, Bangalore: A Wonderful Wedding Involving the Four Elements of Nature

Love is simply a four-letter word until you find your soulmate. And that is exactly what Aastha and Shikhar discovered as they took their wedding vows in an enchanting ceremony.

This Marwari wedding was a gorgeous blend of traditions and fun events. The lovely couple selected the four elements of nature as their wedding theme, namely water, air, fire, and earth.

With Leela Bhartiya City (Bangalore) and Amita Rasa serving as the perfect backdrops for the various events, the whole wedding was nothing short of a dreamy affair.

A Gorgeous Haldi Ceremony Set Around the Theme of Water

Aastha and Shikhar’s wedding story began with a sparkling, fun-filled Haldi event. It was a bright and beautiful Haldi ceremony organized at the Leela Bhartiya City. The splendid venue, the water theme, and the picturesque décor all came together to accentuate the event’s mood.

When the couple entered the venue dancing to the beats of dhols and smoke bombs, it was clear that they meant to enjoy every moment of their wedding saga. And they sure did have loads of fun at their Haldi ceremony! Right from playing the shoe game to dancing to the tunes of peppy numbers, every moment was marked by happiness and laughter. Surprise dance performances further added to the upbeat mood.

The couple opted for fresh flowers and turmeric for their Haldi. The riot of colours made for some very gorgeous and super fun photos. With plenty of fun games and activities, it was easy breaking the ice between the families and making them join in the fun.

We captured the couple and the happy vibes of the event against the gorgeous setting, and the photos came out incredible.

Scintillating Sangeet Ceremony Based on the Theme of Air

The Sangeet was a special event in Aastha and Shikhar’s wedding saga. Once again, the venue was Leela Bhartiya City. The theme for the evening was air or space.

Aastha made sure she captured everyone’s attention when she entered the venue with shiny robots. Shikhar was not to be left behind either – he made a grand entry from the backstage, dancing to a popular Bollywood number – Badtameez Dil. Our pre-wedding shoot for the couple set the fun mood for the night.

Spectacular performances marked the evening. Since the performances were based on the decades starting from 1950 to 2022, they captured everyone’s hearts alike, whether young or old. The mesmerizing solo performance of the bride and the groom was the highlight of the evening.

Shikhar displayed his superb dancing skills as he performed songs by legends like Michael Jackson and Prabhudeva. Everyone, including us, was mighty impressed with his moves. No wonder we couldn’t help capturing loads of his moves on our cameras.

If the couple dance was special, the brother-sister dance by Shikhar and his sister Shruti (which they learnt at a camp 17 years ago) showed how good they both were at making great moves on the dance floor!

As the evening progressed, friends and cousins took over the dance floor and added to the frenzy of the event.

An Enchanting Wedding Highlighted by the Fire Theme

The wedding day dawned with a lot of happiness and expectations for the lovely couple.

For their dream wedding, Aastha and Shikhar selected Amita Rasa as the venue. Set in the lap of nature and away from the rush of the city, the venue was perfect to start their journey into a new life together in the presence of their loved ones. Surrounded by Nandi Hills and covered by clouds, the open-air venue offered an ideal backdrop for some gorgeous photos of the bride and the groom.

We started capturing the bride and the groom in various moods even as they got ready for the grand event. Shikhar’s baraat was led by a vintage car that served as the groom's chariot. The baraat party and the groom had a lot of fun as they danced their way to the ceremony. After the toran, Shikar made a unique entry to the venue.

Aastha looked every bit an ethereal princess in her wedding finery. She entered the venue under a colourful phoolon ki chaadar held by her brothers.

The bride and the groom exchanged their wedding vows in a sweet, romantic way. They exchanged garlands against the backdrop of the Nandi Hills. We captured each of these moments with enthusiasm and awe.

After the garlanding ceremony, the couple stepped into the beautifully decorated mandap to complete other wedding rituals. They took their pheras around the sacred fire. Finally, the groom put sindoor (vermillion) on the bride's forehead.

Once the wedding rituals were over, we whisked the couple away for a romantic newlywed photo shoot with the mountains serving as a natural background. It was great to capture the ravishing bride and her handsome groom looking so much in love.

Just Married Dinner Marked by the Earth Theme

The newlywed couple celebrated their marriage with a grand dinner. It was organized at the Leela Bhartiya City.

The dinner was attended by the couple's loved ones, who came together to cheer for them and wish them a happy married life ahead. The bride and the groom looked elegant in their post-wedding dinner outfits.

As they relaxed in the company of their friends and family, we took the opportunity to capture them in vibrant moods all evening long. It's always fun to capture young people in love. Capturing Aastha and Shikhar starting their married life was a wonderful experience for us.

Amita Rasa, Bangalore: An Exquisite Wedding Among the Hills

When Cupid pulls the strings, everything falls into place—and that's exactly what happened with Akshaan and Sanithra. Their wedding was a blend of Punjabi, Malayalam, and Telugu rituals to celebrate their roots. The wedding extravaganza took place over three days.

This lovely couple decided to take their vows at Amita Rasa, a breath-taking venue nestled in the lap of nature. Tucked in a valley on the slopes of the Nandi Hills, the picturesque venue matched the unbridled enthusiasm of the couple on their special day.

But what caught our attention was the open setting of the venue, encircled by green hills. Add to that a spectacular floral décor that matched the scenery as well as the outfits of the couple, and we were thrilled to capture this riot of colours and beauty with our camera!

The Wedding: A Celebration of Rituals and Traditions

On their big day, Akshaan and Sanithra looked picture-perfect in their wedding attires.

Dressed in a gorgeous golden traditional saree and an intricately designed matching blouse, the bride looked ethereal. A pastel pink chunni and gold ornaments served as the perfect finishing touches for her bridal look. We were elated to capture her in different stages as she got ready for her special day.   On his part, the groom complemented her by donning an off-white and golden mundu set. The groom's father helped him in getting ready for the wedding.

The groom arrived in an open car and the baraat was a fun-filled affair. He was dancing to the beats of the dhol that accompanied his marriage party. Giving him company were his family and friends, who joined in the revelry with equal enthusiasm. It was a sight to behold, with the groom's friends wearing mundu sets and dancing to the dhol beats. The highlight of the baraat was the groom's enthusiastic grandmother dancing and enjoying herself.

As is the tradition in South India, the groom made his entry to the venue accompanied by the boisterous and lilting sounds of the chenda and nadaswaram. The beaming bride entered with her friends holding the thalapoli.

The main wedding venue was decked up with floral garlands that hung down from the ceiling. The sindoor daan and the tying of the Mangalsutra were among the major rituals that marked the wedding. Surrounded by friends and family, the couple took their vows. When it was time for the talambralu ritual, everyone had great fun—It involved the couple throwing rice at each other. After the wedding was over, the couple's friends showered them in flowers to mark the happy moment.

In the midst of everything, we made sure that all these precious moments were captured on our camera. We engaged the couple for a quick couple shoot. Making ample use of the beautiful venue and the amazing décor elements, we came up with some stunning shots.

The Sangeet: An Extravaganza of Fun and Dancing

For their Sangeet, the couple decided on Radisson Blu, Atria as the venue. The bride decked up in a fiery red outfit and dazzled with a bright smile. The groom looked stylish in his resplendent peacock green outfit.

Joined by family and friends for the event, they had a lot of fun. Several dance performances marked the evening. The couple joined in the revelry with full enthusiasm. As everyone partied the night away, we were delighted to make the most of the event with a mix of colourful and monochrome shots.

The Friends Party: A Special Event

The Destiny Farms in Ooty played the host for this special event. This hilly venue was perfect for aerial or drone photography. The beautiful sunset added to the mesmerising vibe of the place. We didn't miss the chance to do a couple shoot before the event, with the sunset serving as a spellbinding background.

Since it was a black-tie event, all the friends were dressed in black. They performed a special skit for the couple. A lot of dancing followed, along with karaoke. The atmosphere came alive with the ensuing fun and craziness. It was an exciting experience for us to capture all the special moments at this unique event.  We wrapped up the shoot for this wedding after having captured countless memories for the couple to cherish forever.
