Forest Hill Resort, Chandigarh: A Big Fat Punjabi Wedding

Doesn’t everyone love a big fat Punjabi wedding? We were lucky enough to experience one such grand affair as the seven year college romance of Nitisha and Yuvraj reached its destination at a lavish ceremony at the Forest Hill Golf and Country Club Resort, Chandigarh. Punjabis surely know how to have fun and when they throw a party you know you are in for a memorable time.

Right from the day they started planning the wedding, her family wanted to make sure that every person who joined them would thoroughly enjoy themselves. Design Sutra, New Delhi helped them in planning the affair. Bright hues and sophisticated undertones dominated the choice of décor at the venue which perfectly resonated with the bride’s own classy and chic minimalist style. It looked like a wedding set from some Bollywood movie. The pre-wedding festivities like the mehendi and sangeet ceremony took place at the Hyatt Regency, Chandigarh. The intricate and detailed mehendi applied by Alankritaa from Rashi adorned the bride’s perfectly manicured hands. The sangeet is the highlight of Punjabi weddings. With all the naach gaana and performances, we couldn’t help but tap our feet to the peppy numbers. Punjabis love their food and alcohol. The event was not only a sight for the sore eye but also a treat for the taste buds! What good food :D

Nitisha’s impeccable sense of style also reflected in every outfit she wore (courtesy Bombay selections, Patiala; Saachi, Jaipur; Devnaagri, New Delhi and Swati Ubroi, Jaipur). They were vibrant with minimal bling. Something she wouldn’t be shy repeating in the years to come. Nitisha says that her mother is her ultimate stylist and we sure agree that when it comes to choosing the right thing to wear, Mumma knows best! The jewelry sets were stunning and the makeup minimal yet spot on. Looking ravishing in the gorgeous wedding lehenga she looked nothing short of a real-life princess. Doesn’t every girl feel like one on her D’ Day?

The groom looked equally dapper in his outfit and the two complimented each other well. This cute Jodi gave us all the feels. Awww…. A match made in heaven (oops on college campus !) We had a lot of fun on this wedding shoot and it was an affair to remember indeed!

Pondicherry Destination Wedding: An Indian-French Affair

It was the summer of 2013. Mirasha and Colin met at a party they both reluctantly came to, on a Monday night.

The thing about Monday night parties is that they require a person with the power of persuasion to convince people around them that it's a perfectly good idea. Mirasha and Colin had a friend in common, Arnaud Garcia, and skilled he was.

Although they both showed up grudgingly there have not been many days since, that Colin and Mirasha have spent apart.
We shot this Indo- French couple’s beautiful pastel wedding in Pondicherry and loved every bit of it . Have a look :)

Zuri Kumarakom, Kerala: Indian-Dutch Eco-friendly Destination Wedding

Zuri Kumarakom was the landing strip for what you’d call an exotic, fully-entertaining multi-cultural soiree that had us at hello. The premise was simple, an Indian girl got married to a Dutch boy in a simple ceremony where there was no real wedding. There was just an exchange of vows with a lot of fanfare and so many sweet quotes. Sigh, such is life, you wonder as you take in every little thing that makes this wedding a wholesome, gorgeous affair.

There are a few things that immediately strike you when you glance at this beauty of a setting. The attention to details like the wedding trousseau that’s so unique and subtle but really, colourful and effortless. From bright reds at the pre-wedding shoot to the subtle pastels at the wedding alongside spectacular Meenakari jewellery - there’s so much to love here. The biggest draw is of course the fact that at it’s very core, this one’s an eco-friendly green wedding that’s also multicultural in it’s outlook.

Guests came from all over the world, 45 countries, 6 continents to be precise. To add to the drama, the couple were environmentalists at heart, so a green wedding it is with no plastic and unnecessary wastage. The events were filled with so many interesting nuggets:a boat race between families, the entry of the bride with her dad on a boat, the groom’s baarat that came on 20 bicycles and more!

It was a story of individuality and spice, the couple designed it all on their own and did not follow the rules. That to us, says only thing - strong, sweet and totally off-beat in every way.
