A wedding is the initiation of a lifelong journey where two souls become soulmates.
Tanya and Gaurav wanted their wedding to be a cherished event, which is why they decided to have a Marwari destination wedding in the company of friends and family.
The couple selected the Hyatt Regency Dehradun to celebrate this special occasion. Nestled in the lap of nature and enveloped by lush greenery, the lavish property provided the ideal setting for the celebrations.
The wedding party was given a grand welcome at the property. To our delight, we found the venue offered scenic views that were perfect for capturing majestic shots.
The Pre-Wedding Photoshoot
Since the Hyatt Regency Dehradun is located at the foothills of the mighty Himalayas, it is surrounded by several picturesque spots. We decided to take advantage of this and do a pre-wedding couple shoot at a waterfall nearby.
Our early morning couple shoot near the waterfall turned out to be quite a memorable event. While Tanya and Gaurav enjoyed the beauty of the waterfall and engaged in a heart-to-heart conversation, our cameras got busy taking candid shots of the couple from various angles.
What thrilled us was that the water offered clear reflections of the couple, which added a mesmerising touch to the photos.
The Eventful Sangeet
Tanya and Gaurav were sure of one thing right from the very beginning: they wanted their wedding to be a lively affair.
The Sangeet ceremony organised at an indoor venue at the Hyatt Regency Dehradun gave them ample scope to live their dream of a wedding ceremony that was infused with songs, dance, fun, and laughter.
For the Sangeet evening, Tanya dressed in a three-piece sky-blue outfit. She accentuated her look with pearl and stone jewellery. Gaurav’s maroon, mauve, and grey attire complemented her look.
They made a grand entry on stage with friends holding pyros to welcome them. Once on stage, Gaurav went down on his knees and put a ring on Tanya’s finger.
The couple sealed the moment with a lovely dance performance. It was followed by several other dance performances. The live band enhanced the mood of the function. As the evening progressed, everyone got into the party mood and engaged in a lot of fun and dance.
The Vibrant Haldi Ceremony
The Haldi ceremony was held at an outdoor venue of the Hyatt Regency Dehradun which was surrounded by lovely mountains. The décor involved fresh flowers with a dominant touch of yellow.
Tanya wore a classy lehenga in fawn and green colours, while Gaurav went for an ivory sherwani that had floral imprints on it. Family and friends of the couple turned up in colorful outfits to match the mood of the occasion.
The couple was welcomed to the venue with live folk Rajasthani music. The Haldi rituals for Tanya and Gaurav took place in parallel. There were happy faces everywhere, even as everyone took part in the rituals.
It was endearing to watch the family and friends mark the occasion with a lot of dancing and fun. Towards the end of the celebrations, Gaurav’s family did a surprise dance performance which left everyone beaming with happy faces.
The Fun-Filled Traditional Wedding
Tanya and Gaurav’s wedding was a grand affair that involved a lot of fun-filled moments. Dressed in a yellow lehenga dappled with intricate work, she looked like a royal. Her choice of artistic jewellery further elevated her look.
Gaurav, too, looked regal in his floral-imprinted white sherwani and orange turban. We took several groom shots with the groomsmen and super pretty shots of the bride while they got ready separately for the big day.
The baraat arrived in a vintage car. It was followed by a large party of dancing baraatis who matched steps to the beats of dhol. The bride’s side welcomed the baraat in traditional style. The open-air venue enveloped by lush green mountains and dotted with floral décor and props looked stunning, to say the least.
When it was time for the rituals to begin, Gaurav walked up to the stage with his grandparents. Tanya was led in by her nephew and brothers who held the phoolon ki chaddar for her.
The wedding ceremony took place at sunset, which added a magical vibe to the ambience. The couple exchanged jaymalas under a flower shower. The Pyro waterfall further enhanced the beauty of the moment and added a fairy-tale touch to the ceremony.
As part of the marriage rituals, the couple took pheras and Gaurav put sindoor on his bride’s forehead. Once the rituals were complete, the couple cut their wedding cake, and everyone sat down for a grand dinner.
We took several shots that marked the beginning of Tanya and Gaurav’s journey as a wedded couple. This wedding will remain special for us as it left us with many fond memories.
